Alex Huston of Glendale (Springfield, Mo.), a regular member of the weekly national high school football stat stars, saw his season come to an end following a 71-34 playoff loss to Republic (Mo.). With the loss, Huston fell just short of several national records.

Huston, who was 37 of 66 for 498 yards and four touchdowns, ended the year with 436 completions in 664 attempts. The national record for completions in a season is 440 by Grant Sherman of Kenton (Ohio), Huston's former school, and Jake Browning of Folsom (Calif.). The national record for attempts in a season is 676 by Will Nicks of Pulaski Academy (Little Rock, Ark.).

Huston did set a national record for average yards passing per game with 509.8. He broke the record of Ben Mauk of Kenton (Ohio), who had 436 yards per game. Mauk is Huston's offensive coordinator at Glendale.

Austin Scott of Spartanburg (S.C) hit a milestone last week, as he became just the ninth quarterback in South Carolina history to throw for over 10,000 career yards. After completing 38 of 53 passes for 492 yards and eight touchdowns last week, Scott now has 10,365 career yards passing.


Rushing

Cecil Langston, Rivercrest (Wilson, Ark.), 36 carries for 435 yards, 5 touchdowns in a 49-14 win over Melbourne (Ark.).

Arturo Tapia, Tonopah Valley (Tonopah, Ariz.), 37 carries for 427 yards, 3 touchdowns in a 48-20 win over Phoenix Christian.

Grant Martin, Harrah (Okla.), 36 carries for 424 yards, 3 touchdowns in a 38-28 win over Bristow (Okla.).

Garrett Owens, North East (Pa.), 45 carries for 409 yards, 5 touchdowns in a 44-36 win over Fairview (Pa.).

Kyle Karycki, Mount Carmel (Pa.), 25 carries for 398 yards, 7 touchdowns in a 60-30 win over Central Columbia (Bloomsburg, Pa.).

Tucker Horak, Rossville (Kan.), 27 carries for 394 yards, 7 touchdowns in a 56-35 win over Silver Lake (Kan.).

Jeremy Nelson, Auburn (Riner, Va.), 38 carries for 384 yards, 4 touchdowns in a 48-20 win over Floyd County (Floyd, Va.).

DeMichael Harris, St. Aloysius (Vicksburg, Miss.), 16 carries for 376 yards, 6 touchdowns in a 56-28 win over Bayou Academy (Cleveland, Miss.).

Christian Kalos, Scottsdale Christian Academy (Phoenix), 24 carries for 370 yards, 6 touchdowns in a 64-0 win over Antelope (Wellton, Ariz.).

Zacciah Saltzman, Athens (The Plains, Ohio), 38 carries for 361 yards, 5 touchdowns in a 50-14 win over Nelsonville-York (Nelsonville, Ohio).

Courtez Hubbard, Magee (Miss.), 25 carries for 358 yards, 5 touchdowns in a 42-7 win over McLaurin (Florence, Miss.).
