Dillon and Loris are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Dillon Wildcats will be playing at home against the Loris Lions at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Dillon comes in on five and Loris on eight.
Dillon only won by three when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 32-point they dealt Georgetown on Tuesday. Dillon really took it to Georgetown for the full four quarters, racking up a 75-43 win at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Dillon has posted since December 27, 2023.
Dillon can attribute much of their success to Ta'norre Monroe, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Monroe has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zamaurious Robertson, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Loris can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Aynor as Loris made off with a 60-38 win. Given Loris' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while Aynor is ranked 284th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Loris' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was KHALID SHERMAN, who scored eight points along with three steals. SHERMAN is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. TYLER BROWN was another key contributor, scoring five points along with three steals.
Dillon pushed their record up to 13-5 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.9 points per game. As for Loris, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Dillon couldn't quite finish off Loris when the teams last played on January 10th and fell 78-75. Will Dillon have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
