This season hasn't been kind to the Apple Valley Christian Warriors, who are still winless after their fourth contest. The matchup between Apple Valley Christian and Lucerne Valley wasn't particularly close, with Apple Valley Christian falling 52-34. Apple Valley Christian has not had much luck with Lucerne Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Lucerne Valley can attribute much of their success to Derrick Tyler, who scored 15 points along with four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Tyler has scored at least 25% of Lucerne Valley's points. Valentin Garibay was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Apple Valley Christian's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4. As for Lucerne Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Excelsior Charter the next time they take the court. Lucerne Valley will head out to face Excelsior Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Apple Valley Christian will host them at 7:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024.
