Sandy Valley had to suffer through a rough 43-15 loss at the hands of Indian Springs. Sandy Valley has struggled against Indian Springs recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Indian Springs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Oriyah Clay led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and 21 rebounds. The game was Clay's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Celina Pena, who scored seven points along with 13 steals and six rebounds.
Sandy Valley's loss was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-4. As for Indian Springs, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-2.
Sandy Valley will head out on the road to face off against Pahranagat Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pahranagat Valley's defense has only allowed 28.3 points per game this season, so Sandy Valley's offense will have their work cut out for Sandy Valley. As for Indian Springs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Round Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Round Mountain: 29.4, Indian Springs: 20.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
