The Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Red Raiders pushed their score all the way to 65 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were beaten by Mosinee 94-65. While losing is never fun, Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while Mosinee is ranked 67th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mosinee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keagen Jirschele, who scored 26 points along with five assists and three steals. The game was Jirschele's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Thomer, who dropped a triple-double on 14 points, 16 rebounds, and 11 assists.
Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln bumped their record down to 2-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Mosinee, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln will be home for the holidays to greet Wausau West at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st. As for Mosinee, they will head out on the road to face off against Antigo at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Antigo is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
