Everything came up roses for St. Thomas More against Northside on Friday as the squad secured a 63-12 victory. Followers of St. Thomas More probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected seven blowout victories.
The St. Thomas More offense pulled no punches in the first half and blazed their way to 35 points. Meanwhile, Northside couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 35-0 heading into the break. St. Thomas More put the match away in the third quarter with 14 points from the offense and six points allowed from the defense.
The win (their 4th in a row) raised St. Thomas More's record to 7-1. Northside's defeat makes it six in a row and drags their record down to 1-7.
The teams are both focusing on improving their conference standings in their upcoming contests. St. Thomas More will square off against Carencro at 7:00 PM next week. Unlike St. Thomas More, Carencro will be limping in after taking a loss. As for Northside, they will go up against Teurlings Catholic. Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
