The Fillmore Flashes will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Hueneme Vikings at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Fillmore's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last six games.
Last Friday, Fillmore strolled past Carpinteria with points to spare, taking the game 31-14.
Fillmore's success was spearheaded by the efforts of David Jimenez, who threw for 103 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and Josiah Cruz, who rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
Meanwhile, Hueneme beat Santa Paula 28-21 two weeks ago.
Fillmore's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.0 points per game. As for Hueneme, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.
Fillmore was able to grind out a solid win over Hueneme in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, winning 31-19. Will Fillmore repeat their success, or does Hueneme have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
