Boys Latin has gone a perfect 10-0 against Annapolis Area Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. Boys Latin will be playing at home against Annapolis Area Christian at 4:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Boys Latin's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Annapolis Area Christian has been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Boys Latin is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maryland's top teams: St. John's Catholic Prep, who was ranked 25th at the time (Boys Latin was ranked sixth). Boys Latin was the clear victor by a 12-1 margin over St. John's Catholic Prep on Wednesday. 12 seems to be a good number for the Lakers as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Jonah Stockton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Stockton was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colton Bordick, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Griffin Kulinski was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Boys Latin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Annapolis Area Christian came up short against Calhoun Academy on Wednesday, falling 15-6.
Robert Ballagh and Jacob Cresanto did some serious damage despite the final result: Ballagh went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Cresanto scored two runs while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Roman Cobb, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Boys Latin's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Annapolis Area Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
