Mid-Penn - Capital recap Sept. 26, 2012
East Pennsboro's Ryan Turpin recorded the longest rushing play in Mid-Penn - Capital this season in his game against Boiling Springs last week. Turpin's team beat the Bubblers as he sprinted for 60 yards on the play and finished with 60 in all.
Trinity was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in the league. The Shamrocks defeated Steelton-Highspire 47-26 earlier in the week.
Adam Geiger was the best wideout in the league this week as Trinity bested the Steamrollers. Geiger racked up three receptions for 77 yards. Danny Jackson helped Trinity's passing attack out by catching four balls for 57 yards.
Mike Boguski provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Bill Ragni's team beat Steelton-Highspire. He completed 11 passes for 209 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 29 yards.
Geiger was the most productive running back in Mid-Penn - Capital this week. He ran for 212 yards on 22 carries as the Shamrocks topped Tom Hailey's team.
Austin Wilson threw for 151 yards and three touchdowns. He went nine-14 with three interceptions.
East Pennsboro's Wilson and Samual Marshall have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Wilson has thrown for 864 yards this season, while Marshall, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 19 catches for 333 yards. Trinity's Geiger leads the league in rushing yards with 619.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Shamrocks take on Milton Hershey. Trinity is in first place, while the Spartans are in fourth place.
The Steamrollers moved up to 218 from 296 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Steelton-Highspire climbed the ranks as a result of a 47-26 win over Steelton-Highspire.
