The Carver Crusaders put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Mashpee 40-16. Considering Carver has won six matchups by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Tyler Lennox was a one-man wrecking crew for Carver as he threw for 327 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Robert Peterson did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 90 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Carver's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-7 McCann Tech and 3-5 Nantucket (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 38.8% over those games). As for Mashpee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carver will take on Franklin County Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Franklin County Tech will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings (they are ranked 246th, while Carver is ranked 68th). As for Mashpee, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Blue Hills RVT at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
