Saluda is 8-2 against the Wildcats since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Saluda Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Ninety Six Wildcats at 6:00 p.m.
Last Tuesday, Saluda came up short against the Bulldogs and fell 46-36.
Meanwhile, Ninety Six put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They really took it to Abbeville for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-21 victory on the road. The win made it back-to-back wins for Ninety Six.
Ninety Six's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gabby Hart, who almost dropped a triple-double on ten rebounds, nine assists, and ten steals. It was the first time this season that Hart pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Janiyah Squire, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Saluda's loss dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Ninety Six, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Saluda beat the Wildcats 35-26 in their previous meeting back in January. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Squire, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Saluda still be able to contain Squire? There's only one way to find out.
