The Dwight Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Midland by a score of 35-33. Dwight lost against Midland in their previous head to head back in November of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 35-34 score last time.
Despite the loss, Dwight saw an underclassman step up: Mikayla Chambers scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kassy Kodat, who scored eight points.
Dwight has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Midland, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dwight will take on Roanoke-Benson at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Roanoke-Benson has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 4. As for Midland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Henry-Senachwine/Lowpoint-Washburn at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
