The Walatowa Charter Cougars lost a heartbreaker to the New Mexico School for the Deaf Roadrunners when they met back in February of 2022, and they left with a heavy heart again on Thursday. Walatowa Charter was dealt a 71-31 loss at the hands of New Mexico School for the Deaf. Walatowa Charter was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-12.
Leading New Mexico School for the Deaf to victory were Tyler Todorovic and Adrien Ercolino. Todorovic shot 4-for-9 from deep and dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds, while Ercolino dropped a double-double on 20 points and 20 rebounds. The contest was Todorovic's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion Holmes, who scored 11 points.
Walatowa Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for New Mexico School for the Deaf, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Walatowa Charter won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against New Mexico School for the Deaf at 6:30 p.m. on February 12th. New Mexico School for the Deaf will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Chesterton Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
