Oakland was led to victory by Amaya Nash and Alonna Poole. Nash scored nine points along with ten rebounds and five steals, while Poole dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Poole has scored at least 25% of Oakland's points. Elaura Cox was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Oakland is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. As for Rockvale, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.
Oakland will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Siegel at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Siegel will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 218th, while Oakland is ranked 51st). As for Rockvale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hendersonville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hendersonville is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
