The Skyridge Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Pleasant Grove Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Skyridge suffered a tough 62-41 loss at the hands of Lehi. While losing is never fun, Skyridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Lehi is ranked third).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Dane Housley, who scored six points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Gentry, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Pleasant Grove's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Westlake by a score of 70-67. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (61), Pleasant Grove still had to take the loss.
Skyridge's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Pleasant Grove, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season.
Skyridge beat Pleasant Grove 66-59 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Skyridge since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
