The Cass Colonels won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 57-36 loss at the hands of Dalton. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cass has scored all season.
Cass' loss came despite strong showings from Jakai Baldwin and Jayden Foster. Baldwin scored three points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Foster scored eight points along with two steals. Baldwin has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played.
Dalton found their leader in underclassman CJ Weaver, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Eli Burt, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Cass has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Dalton, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-12.
Cass will head out on the road to take on the Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Hiram's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six games. As for Dalton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodland is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
