The Okeechobee Brahmans had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They escaped with a win on Wednesday against Glades Central by the margin of a single free throw, 41-40. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Okeechobee also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Okeechobee's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Oliver Saunders, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. The match was Saunders' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Chaynaya'ah Phillips was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Okeechobee's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Glades Central, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Okeechobee will be home for the holidays to greet Treasure Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Treasure Coast is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. Glades Central won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Pahokee at 7:30 p.m. on December 14th. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Pahokee and four for Glades Central.
