Benavides is on a six-game streak of home losses, San Isidro a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Benavides Eagles will take on the San Isidro Tigers at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Benavides will be strutting in after a win while San Isidro will be coming in after a defeat.
Benavides was handed a 41-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Bruni on Friday. Benavides had just enough and edged Bruni out 34-31. The win was just what Benavides needed coming off of a 75-34 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, San Isidro came up short against Lasara on Friday and fell 61-51. San Isidro has not had much luck with Lasara recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Andy Lane, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Ramos, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Benavides' win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-14. As for San Isidro, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-21 record this season.
Benavides came up short against San Isidro in their previous matchup back in January, falling 53-41. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of San Isidro's Larry Ramos, who scored 21 points along with three steals. Now that Benavides knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
