It was a good run, but the Lodi Blue Devils unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 67-60 to Lakeside Lutheran. While losing is never fun, Lodi can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while the Warriors are ranked 34th).
Leading Lakeside Lutheran to victory were Kaycee Guzman and Wes Rahn. Guzman scored 16 points along with seven assists, while Rahn scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Ben Krauklis was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Lodi's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Lakeside Lutheran, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-2.
Lodi will head out on the road to square off against the Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Waterloo knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 matchups -- so hopefully the Blue Devils like a good challenge. As for Lakeside Lutheran, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blackhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. River Valley is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
