The Columbia Central Golden Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past East Jackson 69-32 on the road. That 69-32 margin sets a new team best for Columbia Central this season.
Hailey Freshcorn continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with three steals. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Cecelia Slatt, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds.
The victory (which was Columbia Central's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for East Jackson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Columbia Central will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Tecumseh at 4:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. East Jackson will be home for the holidays to greet Stockbridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Stockbridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Thursday.
