The Anacortes Seahawks won the last time they faced the Lakewood Cougars, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Anacortes rang in the new year with a 49-38 win over Lakewood.
Despite the loss, Lakewood still got an impressive performance from ALAINA JONES, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. JONES also grabbed two+ steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Frankee Powers, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Anacortes pushed their record up to 2-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lakewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Anacortes will head out on the road to face off against Squalicum at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lakewood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sehome at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
