It was a good run, but the Academy at the Lakes Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a serious blow against Berkeley Prep, falling 57-26.
Leading Berkeley Prep to victory were Lila grace Strain and Maddie Dean. Strain scored 20 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Dean dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Strain has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Priyanka Makati, who scored four points along with three steals.
Academy at the Lakes' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7. As for Berkeley Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-11 record this season.
Academy at the Lakes will square off against the Warriors at TBD on Wednesday. Seven Rivers Christian is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Berkeley Prep, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th. Bishop McLaughlin Catholic is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
