Vacaville extended the longest winning streak in Monticello Empire this week by beating Wood, 44-15. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Bulldogs.
Vacaville led the league in scoring this week after putting up 44 points on the Wildcats. Curtis Goins ran for 194 yards and caught two passes for 22 yards in the win.
Wood's dynamic duo of Tyler Bailey and Roddrick Douglas proved tough for Mike Papadopoulos' team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Bailey threw for 231 yards and two touchdowns and Douglas had 86 yards receiving. Aaron Herbert helped Wood's passing attack out by catching two balls for 70 yards.
5-foot-8 quarterback Bailey of Carlos Meraz's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1207. He has also thrown eight touchdowns. On the ground, the Bulldogs' Goins has rushed for 952 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Brandon Beck. The Vintage star has 17 catches for 407 yards.
Damian Simpson has rushed for 914 yards on 123 carries so far this year.
