Valley is 0-3 against Piedra Vista since September of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Valley Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Piedra Vista Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Valley sitting on five straight victories and Piedra Vista on three.
Valley had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They didn't even let Manzano onto the board and left with a 50-0 win on Saturday. The result was nothing new for Valley, who have now won six contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Among those leading the charge was Tazhe Wilson, who rushed for 110 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. Wilson is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Natavious Stallworth got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Piedra Vista can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent game two weeks ago. They breezed by Belen on the road to the tune of 49-14.
Valley pushed their record up to 8-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.3 points per game. As for Piedra Vista, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.
Valley was taken down by Piedra Vista 48-0 in their previous matchup back in September of 2022. Can Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
