The Wilby Wildcats will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Wolcott Eagles at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Wilby's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Wilby pushed their score all the way to 65 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 74-65 to Holy Cross. The loss put an end to Wilby's undefeated start to the season.
Meanwhile, Wolcott also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Woodland Regional by a score of 63-52. Wolcott has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Wilby's loss dropped their record down to 6-1. As for Wolcott, they bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Wilby took their victory against Wolcott when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 84-61. Does Wilby have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wolcott turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
