Monroe-Woodbury is a perfect 6-0 against Minisink Valley since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Crusaders will face off against the Warriors at 4:15 p.m. Monroe-Woodbury will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Monroe-Woodbury is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let O'Neill get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Michael Monda made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Monda was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Nicholas Filonow looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Liam Hayes, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Max Post also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Monroe-Woodbury hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive matches.
Minisink Valley not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 8, 2024 (when they won 13-3). Everything went their way against Chester as they made off with an 11-2 victory. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Hambletonians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Christopher McCauley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. McCauley was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
In other pitching news, Nicholas Parco looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
Back at the plate, Dylan Acevedo was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Liam Barry was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Monroe-Woodbury's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Minisink Valley, their record now sits at 2-4.
Minisink Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Monroe-Woodbury hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .337. It's a different story for Minisink Valley, though, as they've only averaged .258. Will they be able to contain Monroe-Woodbury's hitters?
Monroe-Woodbury came out on top in a nail-biter against Minisink Valley when the teams last played back in May of 2023, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
