There's no place like home for the Deep Run Wildcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-53 victory over Freeman on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Deep Run also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Deep Run to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chris Suber, who scored 18 points along with seven steals and six assists. Suber has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Quentin Morgan was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Deep Run's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Freeman, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.
Deep Run will head out on the road to challenge John Marshall at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in John Marshall's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests. As for Freeman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hermitage at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
