Fairborn is 2-8 against West Carrollton since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Fairborn Skyhawks will head out on the road to face off against the West Carrollton Pirates at 7:15 p.m. Hopefully Fairborn focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
Fairborn unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak. They lost to Stebbins at home by a decisive 60-43 margin.
Sean Townsend put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Taiyou Williams, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, West Carrollton pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 61-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stebbins. While losing is never fun, West Carrollton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 522nd, while Stebbins is ranked 243rd).
Fairborn's record is now 6-5. As for West Carrollton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.
Fairborn ended up a good deal behind West Carrollton in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, losing 67-50. Can Fairborn avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
