It was another big night for Donovan Desha, who shot 5-for-8 from long range and dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Boardman, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Poly lost, one person who can't be blamed is JD Wyatt. Despite the final result, he scored 28 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That was a full 47.5% of Poly's points, marking the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jao Libunao, who scored seven points along with six steals.
Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Poly, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.
Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary will square off against Cabrillo at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Poly, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Monroe at 4:00 p.m. Monroe is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
