Goddard is 10-0 against Chaparral since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Goddard Rockets will challenge the Chaparral Lobos at 2:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Goddard will bounce into Saturday's match after beating Roswell, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Goddard managed a 51-45 victory over Roswell on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Rockets have won by exactly six points.

Goddard's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lauren Medrano led the charge by going 8 of 10 on her way to 16 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Medrano a new career-high in assists (three). Natalie Hardwick was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 18 boards.
Goddard smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in ten consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Chaparral didn't have too much trouble with Loretto on Tuesday as they won 46-28. Given the Lobos' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 100th in New Mexico, while the Angels are ranked 939th in Texas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chaparral's win came from a few key players Goddard will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Aubrey Dominquez, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 28 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Arianna Molina, who posted 11 points in addition to seven assists and five steals.
Goddard has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.4 points per game. As for Chaparral, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.
Goddard was able to grind out a solid victory over Chaparral in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 32-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for Goddard since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
