It was a good run, but the McLoud Redskins unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to Holdenville. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Holdenville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kase Sipes led the charge by scoring 19 points. Sipes hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Mike Piza, who scored 16 points.
McLoud's loss dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Holdenville, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McLoud will face off against Jones at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Jones is ranked 80th, while McLoud is ranked 88th). Holdenville will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Bethel at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
