Rains proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 12) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Winnsboro Raiders 9-7. The victory was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on five straight.

Rains pushed their record up to 13-9-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Winnsboro, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Rains Wildcats challenge Mount Vernon Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mount Vernon will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Rains surely won't give up without a fight. As for Winnsboro, they will welcome Commerce at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
