The North County Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their seventh straight defeat. They took a 36-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Severn School. While losing is never fun, North County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Admirals are ranked 95th).
Severn School found their leader in underclassman AMYAH HEYLIGER, who scored ten points along with eight steals. Another player making a difference was VALERIE WAUGH, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
North County dropped their record down to 1-11 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Severn School, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
