Baseball Recap: Mansfield Extends Winning Streak to Four

Mansfield took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Troy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Mansfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Troy on Thursday, sneaking past 6-4. The Tigers' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Mansfield's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Easton Cleveland-Pequignot, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Another was Cooper Shaw, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Mansfield's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Troy, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.

Mansfield wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 9-6 loss against Athens on the 31st. As for Troy, they will challenge Towanda at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
