Basketball Recap: Hillsboro Skates Past Meyer with Ease

It was a Battle of the Birds when Hillsboro faced off against Meyer on Friday. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 66-23 stomp they got against the Meyer Ravens. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Leading Hillsboro to victory were Charlee Mack and Callie Tucker. Mack went 8 of 15 on her way to 20 points and eight steals, while Tucker went 7 of 11 on her way to 17 points. Mack is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubriana Jordan, who posted ten points.

Hillsboro smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Hillsboro is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Meyer, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Hillsboro didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-35 victory against Vanguard College Prep on the 27th. As for Meyer, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 24-20 defeat against Rosehill Christian on the 27th.
