The Fuqua Falcons's game last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 51-40 victory over Amelia Academy. That's another feather in the cap for Fuqua, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Sam Minix was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 21 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. Mason Pleasants was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.

That was a full 50% of Amelia Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Aiden Long, who scored four points along with five steals.
Fuqua's victory ended a 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-11. As for Amelia Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fuqua's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Kenston Forest at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Kenston Forest is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games. As for Amelia Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Banner Christian at 7:00 p.m. Banner Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 15 contests -- so hopefully Amelia Academy likes a good challenge.
