The Mount Abram Roadrunners are taking a road trip to take on the Oak Hill Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mount Abram is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
Mount Abram can't be too worried about heading out to take on Oak Hill: they just beat Lisbon at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Roadrunners came out on top against the Greyhounds by a score of 7-4 on Monday. The Roadrunners haven't had any issues with the Greyhounds recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Kaiden Longley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Killian Pillsbury, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Landen Marble was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Oak Hill lost 12-2 to Monmouth Academy on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost five in a row.
Oak Hill saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braden Dubuc, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Mount Abram's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Oak Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
Oak Hill's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mount Abram has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435. It's a different story for Oak Hill, though, as they've only averaged .317. Will they be able to contain Mount Abram's hitters?
Mount Abram skirted past Oak Hill 3-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Roadrunners since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
