Andre Calderon Turns in Season-Best Performance
Bakersfield Christian was led to victory by Andre Calderon, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Calderon picked up 122 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 66 yards.
This season, Calderon has caught 12 touchdowns while averaging 97.9 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he had six receiving touchdowns.

Talen Mather Delivers Best Effort of Season
Bakersfield Christian was led to victory by Talen Mather, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Mather rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 16 yards and a touchdown.
Highland's probably not too fond of Mather given he always seems to get the better of them. Mather threw for 267 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground the last time he and the Scots duked it out back in October of 2023.

Winning always takes teamwork, but on Thursday Jakhai Ervin stepped things up a notch to give Independence the 'W'. Nobody could stop Ervin as he rushed for 75 yards on only ten carries, and also picked up 38 receiving yards.
Independence now has a winning record of 4-3. Ervin and Independence will square off against Highland at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Ridgeview had to settle for second on Thursday, but Diego Herrera sure wasn't going down easily. Nobody could stop Herrera as he rushed for 25 yards.
Ridgeview is on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7. Herrera and Ridgeview will welcome Stockdale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
