It was a good run, but the Marietta Blue Devils unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 63-27 loss at the hands of McEachern. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Marietta has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Marietta saw an underclassman step up: Kyann Senior scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Marietta struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
McEachern's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jada Bates, who scored 17 points. Bates also scored 15+ points for the first time this season. Amanda Eziukwu was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Marietta's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for McEachern, their victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marietta won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Woodstock at 1:30 p.m. on December 9th. Woodstock will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while Marietta is ranked 111th). McEachern will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Our Lady of Good Counsel at 1:30 p.m. on December 20th.
