After losing to the Creekside Knights the last time they met, the Tocoi Creek Toros decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Tocoi Creek walked away with a 36-27 win over Creekside on Monday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Tocoi Creek.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tocoi Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mckenzie Mabry, who scored ten points along with two steals. Mabry has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kathryn Moeller, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Tocoi Creek has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Creekside, they bumped their record down to 5-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Tocoi Creek won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Nease at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Nease focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Thursday. Creekside won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against University Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. University Christian's defense has only allowed 23.4 points per game this season, so Creekside's offense will have their work cut out for them.
