Mifflinburg has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Montoursville Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
In what's become a running theme this season, Mifflinburg gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They came out on top against Central Columbia by a score of 60-37 (the very same score they lost by the week prior). For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Mifflinburg has posted since December 5, 2023.
Meanwhile, Montoursville scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They walked away with a 66-55 victory over Midd-West. Given Montoursville's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 184th, while Midd-West is ranked 502nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mifflinburg is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Montoursville, their win bumped their record up to an identical 7-4.
Mifflinburg didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Montoursville in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 72-66 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mifflinburg since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
