South Rowan suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Northwest Cabarrus 85-49. While losing is never fun, South Rowan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 570th, while Northwest Cabarrus is ranked 176th).
Central Cabarrus' victory was their 25th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-0. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 47.16 points. As for South Rowan, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.
Everything came up roses for Central Cabarrus against South Rowan in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 99-28 victory. With Central Cabarrus ahead 64-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.
