The South Hills Huskies are taking a road trip to challenge the Chino Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Hills will be strutting in after a win while Chino will be coming in after a loss.
South Hills got their first taste of in-conference action on Friday and they started things off strong. They were the clear victors by a 41-21 margin over Walnut. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Hills to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyler Arguinzoni, who rushed for 121 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards Arguinzoni has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Fabian Marez, who rushed for 92 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something South Hills proved: they limited Walnut to a paltry 2.3 yards per carry. While four picked up at least two total tackles, Arguinzoni stood above the rest. He rushed for 121 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. South Hills didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.8.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Chino's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a hard 28-14 fall against Los Altos.
South Hills will have to contain Nathan Bull as he made an impact in Chino's last game. He rushed for 69 yards and a pair of TDs. Bull also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Chino is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-4 otherwise. Christian Rodriguez also helped out with an impressive 93 receiving yards.
South Hills picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-5. As for Chino, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-5.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. South Hills has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 197.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Chino struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 150 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
South Hills couldn't quite get it done against Chino when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 21-14. Can the Huskies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
