Proctor Academy scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Pingree, 44-12. At the time, the Highlanders was ranked 14th in the state, while the Hornets was 26th.
Ryder Arsenault and Matthew Dean provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Holderness. The longest such play in Evergreen - West this season, the connection resulted in 64 yards.
New Hampton School's dynamic duo of Milan Murray and Dean proved tough for the Bulls to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Murray threw for 121 yards and one touchdown and Dean had 151 yards receiving. Ken Miyachi helped New Hampton School's passing attack out by catching two balls for 17 yards.
Blake Joppy was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 13 carries, he ran for 183 yards as Proctor Academy defeated Holderness. Teammate Odaine Franklyn added to the ground attack by rushing for 121 yards.
Jeff Paras made the biggest impact on defense this week as New Hampton School topped Rick Eccleston's team. The 6-foot-4 senior grabbed two sacks.
Ed Kiley's team's Arsenault and Dean have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Arsenault has thrown for 160 yards this season, while Dean, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has six catches for 170 yards. Joppy from Ben Rulli's team leads the league in rushing with 325 yards.
A big matchup in Evergreen - West this week will be when Tilton School takes on the Hornets. At the moment, the Rams are in sixth, while Proctor Academy is in first.
Pingree suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 44-12 loss to the Hornets. Chris Powers's team had been ranked 14th, but fell to 33 following the defeat.
