Lower Brule is 6-0 against Takini since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Lower Brule Sioux's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Takini Skyhawks at 1:30 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Lower Brule focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
Lower Brule posted their biggest win yet this season on Tuesday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 76-8 win over Flandreau Indian.
Lane Gray continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Palmier, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Takini unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were beaten by Dupree 85-25. The low total for Takini ended their streak of high-flying scores.
Lower Brule pushed their record up to 5-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 87.3 points per game. As for Takini, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Everything came up roses for Lower Brule against Takini when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 113-43 win. Does Lower Brule have another victory up their sleeve, or will Takini turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
