Arizona College Prep and Mica Mountain squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Arizona College Prep had to settle for second. They were dealt a 42-13 defeat at the hands of the Mica Mountain Thunderbolts. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.

Although Arizona College Prep took the loss, they still got scores from Tyler Lowder and Evan Heinrich.

Mica Mountain had a senior duo take command as Josiah Thornwell rushed for 175 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry and Jayden Thoreson rushed for 72 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries. Those 175 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Thornwell.

Arizona College Prep's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-2. As for Mica Mountain, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-0.

As of now, neither Arizona College Prep nor Mica Mountain have any future games scheduled.
