Baseball Recap: Bourgade Catholic Gets the Win

Bourgade Catholic's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the St. John Paul II Catholic Lions 15-13. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Bourgade Catholic let Alexander Guzak and Tyson Trujilo run wild. Guzak scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Trujilo scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs Trujilo has posted since back in February of 2024. Tyler Preach also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Bourgade Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .730. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bourgade Catholic picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for St. John Paul II Catholic, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Bourgade Catholic has already played their next game, a 12-9 defeat against Chino Valley on the 4th. As for St. John Paul II Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Heritage Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be Heritage Academy's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
