The Burlington School Spartans had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Caldwell Academy 63-60. The victory was just what The Burlington School needed coming off of a 80-52 defeat in their prior contest.
Zion Walker was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points. Another player making a difference was King Gibson, who scored 11 points.
The Burlington School's win bumped their record up to 18-10. As for Caldwell Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 18-8.
The Burlington School will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Miller School of Albemarle at 2:15 p.m. on January 27th. Miller School of Albemarle has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,111 points over their last 17 contests. As for Caldwell Academy, they will be playing at home against Calvary Day School at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Calvary Day School will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 138th, while Caldwell Academy is ranked 31st).
