Jacobs has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. Having just played yesterday, they will head out on the road to face off against the Barrington Fillies/Broncos at 4:30 p.m. on December 27th. Jacobs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 291st, while Barrington is ranked 61st).
On Tuesday, Jacobs came up short against Lake Zurich and fell 57-44.
Despite the loss, Jacobs got a solid performance out of Treval Howard, who scored 15 points. Howard scored a full 34.1% of Jacobs' points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Jirak, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Barrington suffered a rough 72-47 loss at the hands of Crystal Lake South on Tuesday.
Jacobs' loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-8. As for Barrington, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
Jacobs took their victory against Barrington in their previous meeting back in December of 2017 by a conclusive 74-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jacobs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
