The Birchwood Christian Warriors were the 51-32 winner over the Sand Point Eagles/Lady Eagles when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Birchwood Christian was beaten by the Eagles/Lady Eagles 50-15 on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Birchwood Christian has scored all season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Birchwood Christian struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Sand Point posted 15 assists.
Arianna Wilson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sand Point, going 9 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and 2 assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Wilson has scored at least a third of Sand Point's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Misty Marine, who scored eight points along with 16 rebounds and two steals.
Birchwood Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Sand Point, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Birchwood Christian will challenge the at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sand Point's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Archangels at 5:30 p.m. on January 31st.
